ANO-RECTAL ABSCESSES
What Is Anorectal abscesses?
It is duo to pyogenic infection of the anal gland. It starts at the base of the anal crypts in between the sphincters and then it spreads.
How Anorectal abscesses Occurs?
- Discharge : Blood born infection may occur in immunosuppressive patients like DM, HIV etc.
- Pain : Most common organism is E. coli, other organisms are streptococci, staphalo- coccus anaerobes etc..
- Itching / Irritation : Skin
What Are The Symptoms?
- a. Pain: Patient present with acute, throbbing type of pain by the side of the anus. This pain becomes exaggerated during defecation.
- b. Swelling: Swelling at the side of the anus it can be seen as reddish colored around the anus or brown induration at ischeorectal fossa.
- c. Fever: Low grade or high grade Fever mostly with shivering is present.
- d. Other constitutional symptoms: like headache, body ache, weakness may present combined with above symptoms.
